This week on Friday Night SmackDown, Ronda Rousey defended her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Raquel Rodriguez. Ronda made her way to the ring with Shayna Baszler, and at one point it seemed that Raquel had the match won, but Baszler put Ronda’s foot on the ropes to break the count.
The referee yelled at Shayna Baszler and then Ronda fought back. While Ronda was on the ropes with Raquel she applied the armbar and then they both fell from the turnbuckle to the mat. Raquel didn’t last long as she tapped out and Shayna Baszler got in the ring to celebrate with the SmackDown Women’s Champion.
However, the celebration was cut short as Charlotte Flair’s music hit. Charlotte Flair then made her way down to the ring and she confronted Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. Rousey asked how Charlotte’s elbow is doing then assumed she wants to challenge for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Royal Rumble.
Charlotte told Ronda that she’s challenging her tonight. Ronda then put the title on the mat as Baszler held her back. Ronda picked up the title then gave it to the referee who called for the bell.
Flair attacked Rousey with a big boot, but she kicked out and Flair attacked Baszler who was on the mat. Charlotte taunted the champ and hit her with a spear, but Ronda applied the armbar. However, Charlotte rolled into into a pin to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship and become a 14 time WWE Women’s Champion.
