The NXT Deadline premium live event took place on Saturday night and the men’s Iron Survivor Challenge kicked off the show. Ahead of the event WWE announced that Eddy Thorpe had been pulled from the match because he isn’t medically cleared to compete The official announcement noted that a suitable replacement would take his place.
When it came time for the men’s Iron Survivor Challenge, Je’Von Evans entered first followed by Wes Lee. After a few minutes Wes Lee scored a fall, so Je’Von Evans entered the penalty box. Nathan Frazer ran down to the ring when it was his time to enter and brought the fight to Wes Lee.
Ethan Page entered the match at the ten minute mark. As soon as he got in the ring Nathan Frazer rolled him up to score a pin. Page looked furious as he was told to enter the penalty box. He tired to get back in the ring, but Frazer dropkicked him them Je’Von Evans pushed Ethan Page into the penalty box.
As soon as Ethan Page got out of the penalty box he rolled Frazer up for a three count to score a point for himself and send Frazer to the penalty box.
When the clock hit fifteen minutes Oba Femi’s music hit. The former NXT North American Champion ran down to the ring and cleaned house. Evans jumped off the top rope and Femi hit him with an elbow on the way down. Femi then pinned him to score a point for himself.
Nathan Frazer went for a hurricanrana on Oba Femi, but Femi reversed it into a powerbomb. As Femi went for the pin Ethan Page pulled the referee out of the ring. Je’Von Evans hit a springboard cutter then scored a pinfall on Wes Lee to bring the match to a five way tie.
As the last five minutes counted down Evans, Lee and Frazer teamed up as they tried to take down Oba Femi, but Femi fought back. Femi hit a pop-up powerbomb on Evans then Ethan Page showed up out of nowhere and rolled him up for a three count. Page took the lead with two points. Ethan Page tried to pin Je’Von Evans only for Evans to reverse it and tie Page with two points. Page looked terrified as he had to enter the penalty box with Oba Femi. After the door was closed Femi destroyed Page then re-entered the match.
Oba Femi hit a double chokeslam on Nathan Frazer and Wes Lee. It was announced that he scored two pinfalls to take the lead with three points. Je’Von Evans hit another cutter on Femi, but failed to cover him before the bell rang, so Femi was announced as the winner.
Trick Williams is scheduled to defend the NXT Championship against Ridge Holland later in the show. Oba Femi will go on to challenge the winner of that match for the belt.
