Over the last few years fans have seen many names part ways with WWE for various reasons, and now it seems that another WWE Superstar is gone.
PWInsider is reporting that Cesaro’s contract with WWE has expired, and he’s quietly exited the company. According to the report the two sides had been in negotiations but were unable to come to terms on a new contract. One source noted that WWE offered Cesaro a contract extension on his current deal but he declined the offer.
Cesaro does not have a non-compete clause because his contract expired, so he is free to appear anywhere following his departure. Originally he was set to be at this week’s Friday Night SmackDown tapings in Hershey, PA but that won’t be happening.
It’s being said that Cesaro will likely be in high demand, and will have options regarding his future whether that means he returns to WWE or ends up with another company. Cesaro is a former US Champion, former SmackDown Tag Team Champion, former Raw Tag Team Champion and former Slammy Award winner. Stay tuned for more updates on his status as they become available.
