Business has been picking up in WWE as of late and it seems that the company is doing what they can to try and build up the women’s tag team division.
Unfortunately the division has been hit with some major hurdles as of late as Liv Morgan suffered an injury when she and Raquel Rodriguez defended the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles against Iyo Sky & Dakota Kai on the May 12 episode of SmackDown. WWE recently announced that the titles have been vacated due to Liv Morgan’s injury, but it sounds like she’s not the only one who got injured during the match.
Fightful Select is reporting that Dakota Kai actually suffered an injury during the same WWE Women’s Tag Team Title match on May 12. It was also noted that the injury appeared to be worse than Liv Morgan’s which is why Bayley said that Dakota suffered a “much more devastating and heartbreaking injury” on the most recent episode of SmackDown.
The specifics regarding the injury are unknown, and it’s not clear at this point in time when Dakota Kai or Liv Morgan will be returning. New WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions will be crowned on the May 29 episode of Raw when Bayley & Iyo Sky, Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler, Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville and Raquel Rodriguez and a mystery partner face off in a fatal four way for the vacant belts.
