Over the last few months there’s been a lot of talk about Jay White’s status after he dropped the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom then followed up by losing a Loser Leaves Japan match and a Loser Leaves NJPW match.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Jay White is currently talking to WWE, but has not signed a deal with the company yet. The former IWGP Heavyweight Champion is also reportedly in talks with AEW. Someone familiar with the situation has said that it’s currently 50/50 in regard to which side he could potentially go with.
It’s also being said that Jay White could ultimately continue to work with New Japan, but he wanted to leave New Japan rather than come in for major dates which is why he did an exit angle before exploring his options.
While White has not made any appearances for WWE in the past he has previously appeared on AEW programming. Would you rather see Jay White sign with WWE or AEW? Sound off in the comments below.
