It’s been a year of big returns for WWE fans as 2025 proved that you never know who might show up. Several names are currently sitting on the sidelines, but it looks like one of SmackDown’s top stars could be back sooner than later.
PWInsider is reporting that there was talk backstage at WWE Survivor Series that Jacob Fatu is close to returning. The former WWE United States Champion has been taking time off to recover from a dental procedure, but one source believed he could be back on the road with WWE in the next few weeks. However, an exact date has not been confirmed at this point in time.
Prior to his absence Jacob Fatu was being featured as one of the top stars on the Friday Night SmackDown brand. Fatu was working his way into the title picture as he was feuding with Drew McIntyre while making it clear that he had his sights set on Cody Rhodes and the Undisputed WWE Championship.
The Samoan Werewolf was written off TV back in October after he was attacked backstage. Originally WWE had plans for Fatu to be part of a huge match at Survivor Series this year, and you can get more details on the original plans here.
