Over the last few years fans have seen a lot of WWE Superstars come and go, and in 2020 former NXT Women’s Champion Kairi Sane stopped wrestling and moved to Japan. Sane continued to work as an ambassador for WWE, but now it seems that she could be completely done with the company.
Kairi Sane recently changed her Instagram handle from “kairi_wwe” to “official_kairi” and both her Instagram and Twitter bios now refer to her as a “Former #WWE Superstar.”
It’s also worth noting that a fan tagged Kairi Sane in a tweet saying that she hopes to see her back in the ring someday, and Sane replied with a winking emoji.
As of this writing neither WWE nor Kairi Sane have released a statement confirming her departure.
Kairi Sane originally joined in 2017 and she went on to compete in the Mae Young Classic. Sane found success in NXT where she won the NXT Women’s Championship, and she was paired with Asuka when she was called up to the main roster in 2019. They went on to be known as The Kabuki Warriors and together they won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. WWE confirmed Sane would be returning to Japan in July of 2020.
Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
