Former AEW Star Reportedly Wanted To Go Back To WWE

WWE has released a number of Superstars over the last few years and in 2021 the company parted ways with former NXT Champion Malakai Black. Shortly after his WWE release Black made his way to AEW where he went on to form to House of Black stable.

However, it was recently reported that Malakai Black had been released from AEW, and Dave Meltzer discussed the release on Wrestling Observer Radio while talking about Black’s potential interest in returning to WWE.

“He did a statement and just basically said he was going to take some time off. He had a lot of he had to work through over the past weeks yesrs and didn’t like things getting out about his personal life online. He said his marriage is alright, he is alright, and he would be back someday, but for now he’s got to, I guess, figure some things out.”

“He wanted out from AEW. Obviously, he wanted to go back to WWE and he had a lot of time left on his deal, you know, it was kind of like four and a half years left on the deal … It’s really difficult to keep someone … who’s unhappy under contract for that length of time.”

It was also noted that Black had been dealing with an injury which is why he hasn’t been used much recently. Do you want to see Malakai Black return to WWE someday? Sound off in the comments below.
