Over the last few years fans have seen a number of former AEW stars jump to WWE such as Jade Cargill, Ethan Page, Ricky Saints and of course Penta. Last week WWE started airing vignettes teasing the arrival of a masked wrestler who many fans assumed to be Rey Fenix.
Fightful Select is now reporting that Rey Fenix has officially signed with WWE. The plan right now is for Fenix to debut on the Friday Night SmackDown brand, but it’s not clear exactly when he will be debuting on television. In recent weeks Fenix has been getting his medicals done.
Rey Fenix was released from AEW recently and the belief is that he won’t be talking extensively about his time with All Elite Wrestling. The same goes for Penta. The two were in contact with WWE last year, which reportedly led to their relationship with AEW souring.
Another Rey Fenix teaser, which can be seen below, also aired on this week’s episode of SmackDown. Stay tuned for more updates on Rey Fenix’s status as they become available.
