Over the last few years All Elite Wrestling has signed a number of talent wrestlers, but it seems that at least one former AEW Women’s World Champion could be moving closer to the end of her deal with the company.
Fightful Select is reporting that a number of wrestlers, staff and higher ups believe that Mariah May is in a contract year. Those who spoke on the situation noted that they believe her contract is set to expire in the summer.
It’s not clear at this point in time if there are any options in the deal, but one source in AEW said that they would be shocked if there weren’t as it’s usually uncharacteristic for someone to receive the type of push Mariah May got on a deal that short.
Word of May’s status has been making the rounds in the company in recent weeks following her loss to Toni Storm at the Revolution pay-per-view. It’s being said that AEW is looking to retain Mariah May.
Mariah May and her reps did not respond for comment and AEW does not comment on talents’ contract status. Stay tuned for updates.
