It’s been a busy week for the stars of All Elite Wrestling as the Revolution pay-per-view aired live on Sunday night, and Toni Storm picked up a big win over Marina Shafir. AEW rolled into Fresno, CA on Wednesday night for Dynamite, and Storm was originally scheduled to face Shafir in a no holds barred match on the show.
However, AEW released a clip ahead of Dynamite which showed that Toni Storm had been attacked in the locker room. Mina Shirakawa and Luther checked on her, and Shirakawa stepped up to face Shafir after it was announced that Storm was not cleared to compete.
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Toni Storm will be out of action for “a long time” due to an undisclosed injury or injuries. It was also noted that Toni Storm’s injury status is the reason why Mina Shirakawa replaced Storm in her scheduled match against Marina Shafir on Dynamite.
After Toni Storm defeated Marina Shafir at Revolution, Ronda Rousey appeared and called Storm down to the ring. The two stars briefly faced off before security stepped into intervene. The face off got a lot of attention on social media, but Rousey did not appear on Dynamite.
There’s currently no word on the extent of Storm’s injuries, or the timeline for her return. It’s also unknown if Mina Shirakawa will be slotted into whatever creative had planned for Toni Storm.
Stay tuned for updates.
