Over the weekend at Saturday Night’s Main Event a video package aired which featured John Cena announcing The Last Time Is Now tournament. Cena confirmed that 16 competitors would be chosen at random for the tournament and the winner would go on to face him in his retirement match on December 13th.
Fans have been patiently waiting to see who would be confirmed for the tournament, and Adam Pearce announced that the following first round matches will take place on Raw next week:
Rusev vs. Damian Priest
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Sheamus
It was also confirmed that Stephanie Vaquer will defend the WWE Women’s World Championship against Raquel Rodriguez, and Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair will defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against The Kabuki Warriors next week in Boston.
Next week’s episode of Monday Night Raw is a highly anticipated episode as John Cena will be making his final appearance in Boston. One way or another it will be interesting to see who Cena ends up crossing paths with as The Last Time Is Now tournament kicks off on Raw.
