First Name For The 2018 WWE Hall Of Fame Class Confirmed

WrestleMania season is upon us, and that means that several Hall of Fame announcements will be made over the next few weeks. Luckily fans won’t have to wait any longer to find out the first name who will be inducted as part of the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame class, as it’s been confirmed that it will be Bill Goldberg.

ESPN broke the news earlier today and confirmed that the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion will be inducted.

“At the end of the day, any business, any venture that you embark upon, you want some type of acknowledgement,” Goldberg told ESPN.com. “You always try to make it to a top. There’s no reason to do anything unless you want to be the best.”

Goldberg rose to fame during his run with WCW, but his first run with WWE didn’t go the way either side wanted it to, and they parted ways on bad terms.

However, Goldberg returned to WWE in 2016, and ended up feuding with Brock Lesnar for several months. Goldberg’s return completely changed his relationship with WWE, and he commented on both sides having a change of heart.

“In a fairly condensed period of time, my relationship with the WWE did a complete 180 degrees,” said Goldberg. “My comeback had everything to do with a change of heart on both sides. For that, I am greatly appreciative, because that was a dark side in my psyche. When I heard ‘wrestling’ or ‘WWE’ I’d kind of want to put it off to the side and not think about it. It didn’t evoke the most positive of memories, but it’s funny how that’s changed completely in the past couple of years.”

The WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony will air on the WWE Network on April 6. Stay tuned for more updates regarding the 2018 class.
