Daniel Bryan announced on Tuesday that SmackDown would be introducing two new Championship belts this week and Bryan made good on his promise.
Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan revealed the new WWE Tag Team Titles and Women’s Championship for SmackDown. They also announced that the first Women’s Champion will be crowned via a six-pack challenge match at Backlash next month.
It was also announced that a tournament will be held to crown the first Tag Team Champions on SmackDown, and the new champions will be crowned at Backlash.
Heath Slater interrupted the segment and said he wants in on the tournament. Shane and Daniel Bryan told him he wouldn’t be able to find a tag team partner. They then told him if he could find a tag team partner and win the tournament he could become a SmackDown Superstar.
