The AEW Executive Vice Presidents have been talking about a potential video game since the inception of All Elite Wrestling, and today a few games were officially announced.
AEW held a special press conference for AEW Games on Tuesday night, and Kenny Omega gave a speech saying that when he signed his contract with AEW he told Tony Khan that he wanted to be part of the video game division.
Omega said that he’s been hearing fans want a game that’s more like No Mercy, and he showed off footage from an AEW console game which is being developed by Yukes. He noted that the game will be released on current, and next gen consoles.
The first footage from the console game shows Hikaru Shida facing off against Kenny Omega, and it can be seen below.
Aubrey Edwards then made her way to the stage and announced the mobile game AEW Elite General Manager, which is basically what it sounds like, a GM mode game on mobile.
Cody Rhodes later made his way to the stage and said that he told Tony Khan that he wouldn’t sign a contract unless he made him head of AEW Games, and Tony said “No. You don’t know s**t about video games.”
Another mobile game, AEW Casino Double or Nothing was announced. Little details were revealed but it was announced that the game will be coming this winter.
Kenny Omega then introduced game developer and director of No Mercy, Geta, who is working on the console game, and he said a few words before the press conference concluded.
The full press conference can be seen below. More footage of the console game can be seen around the 5:30 mark.
