First Head Coach And General Manager Revealed For The XFL

The XFL is set to return in 2020, and a few weeks ago the company made some big announcements when they confirmed that the following cities and stadiums will be hosting the 8 teams that will compete for the league:

New York – MetLife Stadium
Dallas, Texas – Globe Life Park (Arlington, TX)
Houston, Texas – TDECU Stadium
Los Angeles, California – StubHub Center (Carson, CA)
St. Louis, Missouri – The Dome at America’s Center
Seattle, Washington – CenturyLink Field
Tampa Bay, Florida – Raymond James Stadium
Washington, DC – Audi Field

On Thursday some more exciting details were announced, as the XFL held a press conference to announce the first head coach and general manager of the Dallas team.

XFL Commissioner & CEO Oliver Luck said that the team has been very busy reimagining the game of football with the help of experts. He said they’ve gotten positive feedback from players and coaches, and the rule book is expected to be published in late summer.

The majority of the players will have college and NFL experience.

The first draft will take place late summer/early fall of 2019.

Oliver Luck then introduced former Oklahoma Sooners coach Bob Stoops and named him head coach and general manager of the Dallas team.

Stoops said he has confidence in Vince McMahon and Oliver Luck, and he believes they’re going to do things the right way. He added that he thinks fans will be excited about the changes that the XFL plans to make to the game of football, and he’s looking forward to the 2020 season.
