Damian Priest defended his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Gunther at Money in the Bank on Saturday, and it was Gunther who walked out with the gold. At one point Finn Balor interfered in the match and turned on Damian which cost him the title. This week on Raw, Damian Priest made his way out to the ring to call out Finn Balor. The former Universal Champion didn’t come out to the ring, but he did appear on the screen as he explained why he turned on Damian.
Finn Balor said Damian brought this all upon himself. He said he didn’t betray Damian, it was Damian who betrayed The Judgment Day. Finn stated that Damian knew how it was supposed to be, The Judgment Day all have each other’s back, there are no leaders, but when Damian Priest became champion he went back on his word.
Balor brought up how he almost became champion a year ago, and held up a photo to reference how Damian Priest brought his Money in the Bank contract to the ring and distracted him during his title match at SummerSlam. He said after he lost the title match Damian told him to “man up.” Finn told Damian that he waited a whole year, but he finally manned up.
Finn Balor said he’s going to wait until Priest has almost forgotten about him, so he can get his revenge when he least expects it, and he won’t be alone. The camera then panned out to show JD McDonagh, Carlito, Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan standing behind Finn Balor.
Damian Priest looked furious as he marched to the back to try and find Balor. Pat McAfee referred to the group that was shown on the screen as The New Judgment Day.
