Finn Balor is the first ever WWE Universal Champion, and when he first debuted on the main roster he was a big player on Monday Night Raw. But unfortunately Finn was forced to sit on the sidelines after he suffered an injury during the first ever Universal Title match, and he’s struggled to find his spot on the card ever since he returned earlier this year.
Throughout 2017, Finn Balor has teased going after Brock Lesnar and the title he never lost, the Universal Championship, but he has yet to get his title shot.
It was originally rumored that Finn Balor vs. Brock Lesnar was penciled in for the Royal Rumble in 2018, but it was recently reported that Vince McMahon has nixed the title match because he doesn’t think that Finn Balor is over enough.
Balor has been on the wrong end of some questionable booking decisions as of late. He defeated AJ Styles at TLC, but the next night on Raw, Kane beat him clean, he was eliminated fairly early in the Survivor Series match on Sunday, and it doesn’t seem that WWE officials have any plans to make him look like a serious contender.
It appears that Finn Balor made a subtle reference to the reports as he posted a tweet with the word “forever” only all of the letters that makeup the word “over” are capitalized.
It seems to be a clever little nod to his status, but here’s to hoping that Finn will be able to find himself an interesting feud heading into WrestleMania season.
