Finn Balor On What His Backstage Relationship Is Like With Vince McMahon

Last week Braun Strowman was pulled from the Universal Title match at the Royal Rumble, and Finn Balor later earned the right to challenge The Beast when he won a fatal four way match.

On Raw, Balor and Vince McMahon have been playing up the storyline that the Chairman of the Board doesn’t believe in Balor. Some have wondered if Vince McMahon’s recent comments about Balor on Raw could be blurring the lines between reality and fiction.

The first ever Universal Champion recently opened up about his real life relationship with Vince McMahon during an interview with TV Insider, and he said that even though Vince has always shown him respect face to face, he’s not sure if he truly does believe in him.

“I got to be honest, I’m not sure what my relationship is with Vince McMahon. I’m not sure if he believes in me or not. He can be a man of few words. When I show up to work, I find out what I need to do and go handle my business in the ring. That’s kind of how I’ve handled my career for the last 18 years. I’m not the type of guy who is going to be knocking on doors trying to pitch storylines and work inside angles. I’m just going to show up and do my job. I will say he has shown nothing but respect to me face-to-face, but that is as far as our relationship goes.”
