Finn Balor made an immediate impact when he joined the main roster, and he went on to become the first ever Universal Champion when he defeated Seth Rollins at SummerSlam in 2016.
In October of 2019 Finn Balor did something unexpected when he returned to the NXT brand, and he’s been working as one of the top stars in NXT ever since.
Finn is certainly one of the key figures in NXT at the moment, but during an appearance on Out of Character with Ryan Satin he stated that he’s hopefully he will return to the main roster at some point in the future.
“Absolutely, absolutely. I grew up as a wrestling fan watching WWE, and that’s essentially where I want to be performing. I feel like in my last run there I wasn’t doing myself justice and needed to change something. The change was NXT and I needed to figure out who I was again, and I managed to do that to some level, and I am definitely hopeful that a return to RAW or SmackDown will happen in the future.”
In addition to his Universal Title reign Finn Balor also managed to capture the IC Title twice during his run on the WWE main roster. Balor won the NXT Title for the second time in his career back in September of 2020, and he dropped the belt to Karrion Kross at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver last month.
