This week’s episode of WWE Raw took place from the Mohegan Sun Arena and it featured a big fatal four way match for a shot at the Intercontinental Championship. During the finish for the match Ivar pinned Ricochet while The Miz was pinning Bronson Reed. The referee went to count the pin, but Ricochet kicked out at the last second and The Miz was declared the winner.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noted on Twitter that Ricochet was not supposed to kick out of the moonsault. Instead the finish was supposed to featured a double pin which is why it looked awkward. The belief is that Ricochet was “rocked” earlier in the match.
“Just a note regarding Raw last night. Ricochet was not supposed to kick out of the Ivar moonsault and it was supposed to be a simultaneous double pin. That’s why it came across so awkward on television. I believe Ricochet was rocked earlier in the match when his head hit the mat.”
Bryan Alvarez also noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Ricochet is now in WWE’s concussion protocol. There’s no word on how long he could be out of action at this current time.
