This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite aired live from the Mission Ballroom in Denver, Colorado and the show featured a big AEW Women’s Tag Team Title match.
Fightful Select is reporting that the AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship match on Dynamite did not go as planned. While the Babes of Wrath were facing off against Megabad, Penelope Ford suffered an injury that took her out of the match.
An audible was then called which resulted in Lena Kross running. The idea was the have Kross cause a disqualification instead of having a match where Megan Bayne being the heel had to fight 2 on 1.
Penelope Ford was checked on during the commercial break and she was ruled out of the match. Harley Cameron mostly stayed out of the match after she tagged out as well.
The audible was called mid-match, but there’s no word on who was originally supposed to win. The change also caused some other immediate adjustments to Dynamite, but it’s being said that there was nothing else drastic.
Stay tuned for more updates on Penelope Ford’s status as they become available.
