Braun Strowman kicked off Raw this week, and he chased Baron Corbin backstage then ripped the door off a limo.
After Strowman destroyed the limo, Vince McMahon fined him $100,000, and told he that he had been pulled from his Universal Title match at the Royal Rumble.
Later in the show, Vince McMahon made his way down to the ring to address the Universal Title situation, but before he could get into it, John Cena interrupted him.
Cena told Vince that when he needed him most, he gave him a chance and he never let Vince down. John told Vince to give him another chance, and he won’t let him down.
He said he’s going to walk into the Royal Rumble, defeat Brock Lesnar and become a 17 time champion. Cena said he knows that’s true, because he has something no one else has, ruthless aggression.
Drew McIntyre then made his way down to the ring and said Cena’s time is up, and his time is now.
Baron Corbin then interrupted and said his life was threatened by Braun Strowman. He lobbied for a title match, then Finn Balor made his way down to the ring and also lobbied for a title match with Brock Lesnar.
Balor said he’s the only one out of the four who has been Universal Champion. Vince praised his agility, but doubted Finn could take Brock Lesnar.
Finn said Vince has never believed in him, but the fans do. He said nothing he says is going to change Vince’s mind, so instead he’ll show him. Balor then punched Corbin and a brawl broke out.
Drew McIntyre cleaned house and put Cena and Balor down.
Vince booked a fatal 4 way between McIntyre, Balor, Cena and Corbin with the winner getting a title shot at Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble.
