For many years Samoa Joe was known as one of TNA’s most talented wrestlers, but in 2015, after a 10 year career with TNA, Samoa Joe decided to part ways with the company. Luckily for Samoa Joe that proved to be a wise decision because he joined NXT a few months later, and he has since won the NXT Championship twice, and he’s one of the brand’s top stars.
Still, there’s no denying that Samoa Joe did have a noteworthy career in TNA as he’s a former TNA World Heavyweight Champion, former X-Division Champion, former TNA Tag Team Champion and former TNA Television Champion.
During a recent NXT live event in Sydney, Australia, some fans brought up Samoa Joe’s TNA past by directing some “TNA! TNA! TNA!” chants at him. Joe got a rise out of the fans by giving the chants a thumbs down, and then simulating the not so PG version of the five knuckle shuffle.

Since joining NXT Samoa Joe has had nothing but good things to say about the brand. A few months ago during an interview Samoa Joe noted that his expectations were low before joining the company, but NXT has far exceeded his expectations.
“I think the biggest thing is they respected me and my artistic integrity. It has been very welcome to see while working for WWE. The majority of my career, you see people released or on their way out of the company saying various horror stories about how things are. So my expectations were pretty low. But being a part of the company has far exceeded my expectations. It has been a blast the entire time I’ve worked here. I’m not one to grumble and complain much, but I have to admit it has been refreshing just being a part of the company and being part of the NXT brand.”
