Vince McMahon returned to WWE last month and it’s no big secret that McMahon is looking to sell the company. WWE CEO Nick Khan recently appeared on CNBC’s Squawk Box where he talked about a potential sale, and during the show co-host David Faber noted that he’s heard, “probably not at this point” in regard to Comcast possibly buying WWE.
Nick Khan seemed a little more optimistic when he responded by saying, “We’re still bullish on Comcast being possible. Obviously there’s only so much I can say about it at this moment, but we’ve certainly got a warm reception in the marketplace from people who seem interested.”
While talking about his expectations for the timing of a sale Nick Khan said “quick” then followed up and added, “maybe three months.”
Khan also reiterated that Vince McMahon is willing to step away from WWE if a potential buyer does not want him to be part of the company. A recent CNBC article claimed, “McMahon’s potential future involvement in WWE has become an early sticking point in preliminary talks with various buyers, according to people familiar with the matter, who asked not to be named because the discussions are private.”
