Was Eva Marie ‘Unjustly Suspended’ from WWE?

Eva Marie was surprisingly suspended by WWE recently for 30 days for her first violation of WWE’s Wellness Policy.

Eva has been appearing on SmackDown’s roster recently but hasn’t actually wrestled a live match since she was drafted to the Tuesday night show three weeks ago. The news comes just before Eva was set to be a part of a six-woman tag match at SummerSlam.

It seems that even though WWE have announced that Eva has violated WWE talent’s policy, it could actually have been an overstep to suspend the Total Divas star, her husband Jonathan has taken to Twitter to defend his wife and the apparent violation.

He wrote: “When the public finds out why my wife was unjustly suspended they will be absolutely outraged! Official statement and facts coming soon.”

Has Eva been unjustly suspended? Had she been taking a prescribed substance at the time? The facts are currently unknown and the WWE Universe is still awaiting an update from Jonathan but it seems that he could have landed Eva into even more hot water.

WWE’s Wellness Violation is an independent testing body, the tests are carried out four times a year and all talent are fully aware of all substances that they should avoid. As with many other sports when an athlete has failed a drugs test, they have the chance to appeal and Jonathan and Eva should probably try that instead of posting their problems online.

When Adam Rose posted online about his suspension a few months ago, WWE didn’t react too well to being called out online for everyone to see, and it is thought that they will feel the same way about this.

Eva has just managed to climb through the ranks of NXT and she is finally on the main roster and about to become a major part of the women’s title picture, it is the wrong time for her to decide to pick a fight with The Company.

Even though the WWE Universe are still not taken with the fiery red head it seems that someone in the background in WWE is. She is a self-made heel and there is nothing she can do to stop fans booing her.

Every superstar that faces Eva automatically becomes a face which is a quality that no other heel star has ever had. Eva may have worked considerably hard to be in the position she is currently in but the WWE Universe are not ready to give her her dues yet.

Since her suspension was announced following both Paige and Alberto Del Rio yesterday, many fans have speculated as to whether or not the suspension is even real. Eva has been doing everything she can to not have to wrestle in recent weeks on SmackDown.

Two weeks ago she fained an injury before a shocking wardrobe malfunction cut an end to her match before it had even started last week and this week there was an announcement that stated that Eva was going to be late because she was stuck in traffic.

Could this be WWE’s way of ensuring that the California native doesn’t have to compete at SummerSlam? This would be a step to far for WWE if they are now bringing in their own Wellness Policy as a way to help with a storyline.

It would blur the lines of kayfabe and reality once and for all but is it further than WWE would go? Perhaps not. WWE would do anything to ensure that this storyline works out in Eva’s favour and with the internet the way it is nowadays, it is likely that WWE would be happy to use it in their favour.

Eva would not be any more disliked because of a suspension and it does mean that she doesn’t have to compete for a while at least. But if Jonathan is calling WWE and their Wellness Policy out online, it does add a new dynamic to this rumor.

Maybe Eva will have her suspension cancelled following SummerSlam so she is then free to compete on Tuesday on SmackDown? It isn’t crazy to think that WWE would go to these lengths to help the Total Divas star, but if it is that Eva has been unjustly suspended as Jonathan has stated then perhaps WWE should look into it and warn Eva’s husband to go through the right channels to appeal next time.
