Emma was recently released from her WWE contract and it was a rather shocking decision for most in WWE. After all, she was doing her thing and seemed to be having a great time as a heel. She got a couple high profile matches against Asuka and for all we knew Emma was set to receive another push from WWE as a heel.
But then the rug was pulled out from under Emma in one swoop when she was wrestling in a spotlight match on Raw one week and looking rather decent against Asuka to being released less than a week later.
#HireEmma popped up on Twitter and went kind of viral. People obviously loved Emma and still wanted to see her wrestle. After all, she was never really given a fair shake in WWE. She won crowds over with her bubble-popping personality in NXT but that took time to nurture and cultivate. When she was tossed into the deep waters of the WWE main roster it gave her little room for audiences to really appreciate her unique character and driving ring-work.
It looks like fans aren’t the only ones who would like to see Emma come back to pro wrestling as soon as possible. After all, she has the WWE Performance Center polish and can elevate just about anyone she’s in the ring with.
Emma will wrestle under her real name, Tenille Dashwood when she breaks out into the indie circuit. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports she was in talks to go to Stardom in Japan who features some of the world’s premier female wrestling talent and are always looking for new women to fill their roster.
However, Emma and Stardom were unable to come to a deal because she was wanting way too much per appearance. It was reported Emma is asking for $2,000 per match plus first-class airfare and creative control.
These demands were obviously too steep for Stardom so the deal was called off. But it might only be a matter of time before Emma appears for an indie promotion provided they can afford her.
