Last year at WrestleMania 38, Edge faced off against AJ Styles on the Grandest Stage of Them All, and Damian Priest appeared during the match and provided a distraction which allowed Edge to pick up the win. In the weeks that followed The Judgment Day was formed and the group has come a long way since then.
The lineup is looking a little different compared to how it started as Edge is no longer part of the group. Priest remains and Rhea Ripley, Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio have since joined the ranks. Dominik Mysterio has really come into his own since joining The Judgment Day, and Edge praised WWE’s decision to add him to the group during an appearance on the After The Bell podcast.
“The addition of Dom to this thing, just such a just a stroke of genius honestly. I think from it Dom has been able to grow into such a major part of making this thing work.”
The Judgment Day storyline has gone through some significant twists and turns, and the Rated R Superstar added that he’s proud of how the group has turned out.
“If you had told any of us at WrestleMania of last year, ‘Oh yeah, by the way, they’re all going to turn on you, Finn Balor’s going to cause that to happen. Then Dom is going to join and become possibly the most despised character on the roster.’”
“That’s been, I think, one of the biggest surprises out of the whole thing is just to see where that has gone and what it adds to the show to it adds to the group but it also adds to the totality of the show. I’m strangely so proud that The Judgment Day has become such an important cog in the machine of Raw, and SmackDown for that matter.”
