ECW Original Axl Rotten Has Passed Away At Age 44

The world lost an ECW legend today as Brian Knighton, best known to wrestling fans as Axl Rotten has passed away. Knight was found dead at the age of 44 in a motel room in Baltimore, Maryland earlier today.

The details surrounding the cause of death are unknown at this point. WWE posted the following in response to his passing:

“WWE is saddened to learn of reports that Brian Knighton, best known for competing in ECW as Axl Rotten from 1993 to 1999, has passed away. WWE extends its condolences to Knighton’s family, friends and fans.”

We would like to express our sincerest condolences to his friends and family. May he rest in peace.
