Former WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre, who is now performing as Drew Galloway, recently appeared on Colt Cabana’s “The Art of Wrestling” podcast and discussed his start in the business, his time in WWE and what he’s up to now.
“More than anything, when I got the call I was kind of surprised but I was like, ‘Okay. I’m just going to take this as an opportunity to better myself and come back one day as a new guy,'” Galloway recalled. Cabana noted that he’d talked to Wade Barrett shortly after hearing about Drew’s release and that Barrett confirmed that he’d taken the news in stride.
Further discussing 3 Man Band, Galloway said that the act had come about through the three performers having simply having a good time.
“With 3MB, it was getting over in places like New York and obviously Europe it was huge,” he said. “We took it as, ‘Okay, cool. In the end, we’re in WWE and they gave us an opportunity no matter how anyone feels about it, we’re going to give it everything we have and we’re going to have a laugh with it.’ And we had the best laugh we could.” He continued, “I think we were together for about a year and a half and people were either starting to either sympathize with us or get with us and they were like, ‘Oh these guys are funny. They’re just having a laugh. I like them.’ It was just kind of picking up. We were on everything.”
