On Sunday night Drew McIntyre faced off against Braun Strowman and Bobby Lashley in a triple threat match for the WWE Title at WrestleMania Backlash, and in the end it was Lashley who walked out with the gold.
This week on Monday Night Raw Bobby Lashley held an open challenge in the main event, and it was Kofi Kingston who stepped up to face Lashley.
Drew McIntyre turned out to be the difference maker as he showed up out of nowhere and attacked Lashley with MVP’s cane, which allowed Kofi to roll Bobby Lashley up to get the win in the non-title match.
Following the match Drew McIntyre celebrated with The New Day on the ramp, and he followed up on Twitter by naming himself Big D.
A fan suggested that Drew McIntyre might want to rethink the nickname, but he doubled down when he responded with a tweet saying, “…..Absolutely not.”
