A few weeks ago Goldberg made his return to WWE Monday Night Raw, and he wasted no time stepping up to the top star on the red brand.
The Hall of Famer challenged Drew McIntyre to a WWE Championship match at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, and McIntyre defended his belt against Goldberg in the first match on the main card.
Before the bell rang McIntyre speared Goldberg, then they battled outside the ring. Goldberg threw McIntyre into the ring steps, then he speared him through the barricade. Goldberg got back in the ring and waited as the ref checked on McIntyre.
The ref asked McIntyre if he still wanted to compete, and he told him to “ring the damn bell.”
McIntyre hit Goldberg with a Claymore, but Goldberg kicked out.
Drew went for another one, but Goldberg dodged it, then speared McIntyre. Goldberg hit another spear, but Drew kicked out.
Goldberg hit the Jackhammer, and he looked shocked when Drew McIntyre kicked out. The Hall of Famer went for another spear, but Drew dodged it and Goldberg hit the turnbuckle. Drew delivered a Claymore to Goldberg and pinned him to retain.
After the match Goldberg told McIntyre he deserves it, and he shook his hand. They showed respect with a hug, and Goldberg held up McIntyre’s arm in victory before leaving.
