Drew Galloway has accomplished quite a bit since he was released from WWE a few years ago. He’s been very successful on the independent circuit, and he’s also become one of the top stars in TNA.
When Drew first kicked off his career on the WWE main roster, many people assumed it was only a matter of time before he made it to the top of the company, because Vince McMahon personally dubbed him “The Chosen One.”
All eyes were on Drew after Vince McMahon gave him the bold nickname, but unfortunately the character didn’t take off the way anyone hoped it would. Drew was recently a guest on the Pancakes and Powerslams show and he noted that Vince McMahon being written off TV was what caused the character’s momentum to stall.
“The direction of the character was [Vince McMahon] and myself talking together and taking his direction. And obviously when he got written off of TV, it was a hindrance to the character when Nexus wrote him off, which was a priority at the time. But, losing Vince hurt the character dramatically. Eventually, I was off TV, and out of sight or out of mind. There was a lot going on, and all of a sudden, I wasn’t too much.”
Drew Galloway hasn’t been shy about letting the world know that his TNA contract expires in just a few weeks. Although Drew didn’t reveal what the future holds for him, he did say that he has a plan in mind, and he hopes it works out.
“My contract comes up in like three weeks. We’re currently in talks. I really hope things work out the way I want them to work out… we just have to figure things out. There’s obviously people reaching out, but I’m just hoping things work out the way that I hope they work out because I’m having such a good ride right now.”
