Dominik Mysterio Wins Intercontinental Championship At WWE WrestleMania 41

A number of big title matches were confirmed for the WrestleMania card in recent weeks and night 1 certainly gave fans plenty to talk about. Jey Uso won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, The New Day won the WWE World Tag Team Championship, and Jacob Fatu won the WWE United States Championship during night 1 of WrestleMania 41.

Bron Breakker put his Intercontinental Championship on the line on Sunday night as he defended the belt against Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor and Penta in a fatal four way match. Penta entered first followed by Dominik Mysterio. Finn Balor then made his entrance and the Intercontinental Champion was the last one to make his way down to the ring.

Early on in the match Dominik Mysterio and Finn Balor decided to work together. Breakker connected with a spear on Dominik just a few minutes into the match, but Finn broke up the pin. Carlito eventually made his way out to watch the match from the ringside area.

While Finn Balor wasn’t looking Dominik hit Balor with a dropkick from behind. Dom went for the Six One Nine on Balor, but Balor blocked it and started stomping Dom. Penta connected with the Penta Driver on Balor then Breakker appeared to break up the pin.

Penta and Bron Breakker were battling back and forth and Carlito pulled Breakker over the top rope. Penta hit the Mexican Destroyer on Dominik, but Carlito pulled Penta out of the ring while the ref was counting the pin.

Carlito tried to put Penta through the announce table. However, Bron Breakker stopped Carlito and he ended up spearing Carlito through the table instead. Breakker and Penta got back in the ring and Breakker connected with the spear on Penta.

Dominik then got the Six One Nine on Breakker and he went to the top rope. Finn Balor knocked Dom off the top then went for Coup De Grace on Breakker. Balor connected, but Dominik hit a Frog Splash on Balor then pinned Balor to win the title.

After the match Dominik took the belt and celebrated on the ramp. After Finn Balor left the ring Dominik ended up running back down to the ring and he held the belt up in the corner as the segment came to an end.
