The Miz defended his Intercontinental Championship against Dolph Ziggler, and Ziggler put his career on the line. Leading up to the match it looked like there was a chance Dolph Ziggler was going to lose this one, but luckily that wasn’t the case.
Dolph Ziggler defeated The Miz and became a five time Intercontinental Champion at No Mercy. The match itself was phenomenal, and the crowd was on fire from start to finish.
Things took a turn for the worse when Maryse sprayed something in Ziggler’s face and Miz followed up with the Skull Crushing Finale, but Ziggler got his foot on the bottom rope to break up the pin. Miz then tried to put Ziggler in the Figure Four, and he accidentally pulled Ziggler’s boot off.
Ziggler superkicked Miz with his exposed foot, but the Spirit Squad came out to distract the referee. Miz then superkicked the Spirit Squad, and the ref kicked them out.
Dolph Ziggler followed up with a superkick for the win.
The Miz was Intercontinental Champion for 188 days, but his title reign has officially come to an end. Dolph Ziggler is now a two time WWE World Champion, a five time Intercontinental Champion, a one time United States Champion, and a one time WWE Tag Team Champion.
