WWE Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler recently spoke with The Sun to promote WWE’s upcoming UK tour, and during the interview he talked about the brand split, and how it has reinvented him. You can check out the full interview here along with a quote below.
“I said the brand split would be a chance for a lot of up-and-coming guys to get a chance to be on television, get a few minutes of microphone time or introduce themselves. I didn’t see it happening for me but it has actually given me a chance to be myself and not memorise something or say a catchphrase. It has been real and reinvented me.”
ESPN is running an article about the “women’s revolution” which features Sasha Banks, Charlotte and Becky Lynch talking about the revolution in their own words.
In the article Sasha Banks notes that she hopes the division can move beyond the words “women’s wrestling.” You can check out the full article here along with a quote below.
“We say things like “women’s wrestling” and “women’s revolution.” I hope one day it’s not “a good women’s match.” I don’t want the women’s wrestling part. I just want to be equal to my partners. Why can’t we be treated equal? I think once we get a women’s main event at a pay-per-view and you drop “women’s wrestling,” that will prove we are on the same level. A couple of years ago we were seen as the popcorn match or the bathroom break for the fans, and that’s not the case anymore.”
