Dolph Ziggler has been with WWE for quite some time now, and throughout his career he’s drifted through various spots on the card.
It’s safe to say that Vince McMahon has seen quite a few Dolph Ziggler matches, but Ziggler admitted during a recent interview with talkSPORT that he hasn’t always gotten the most positive feedback from the Chairman of the Board.
“Oh, boy. I can’t say those things! It’s very passionate in the backstage Gorilla Position where something either really special happens or it doesn’t. And, of course, as much as I brag about being great, I’ve been yelled at a million times because you either went the wrong direction or did something or went heavy [on time].
Something along the lines of ‘This isn’t the Attitude Era, you can’t just go as long as you want out there’, with some yelling back and forth between us.”
It appears that Dolph Ziggler’s squabbles with Vince McMahon didn’t do him any favors, as former WWE writer Kevin Eck revealed in an article that Vince had lost faith in Dolph before he cashed in Money in the Bank.
“To say McMahon had lost faith in Ziggler during this time would be a major understatement. Even though Ziggler was getting a good reaction from the fans, McMahon was highly critical of Ziggler’s instincts in the ring and his promos. Triple H wasn’t a big Ziggler fan, either. He thought Ziggler didn’t take direction well and was overly obsessed with trying to be the next Shawn Michaels.”
