As we all know, WWE loves to inflate their attendance numbers in order to build a little more hype around their big events. WrestleMania 32 took place on April 3, 2016, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and the announced attendance for the event was 101, 763.
WWE has touted this number in press releases and media conference calls, but Fightful is reporting that the real number is actually much lower than that. According to the Arlington Police Department, the actual attendance number for the event was 80,709.
Vince McMahon has said that the 101,763 number includes “usher and ticket takers and all of that” but last July WWE publicly released documents revealing that paid attendance for the event was somewhere between 73,111 and 85,888.
Although it seems that WWE exaggerated the attendance numbers, the gate is not under dispute.
WrestleMania 32 brought in $17.3 million worth of ticket sales and it is indeed the biggest gate in professional wrestling history.
WWE has been stocking up on talented female announcers as of late with Charly Caruso and Dasha Fuentes and now it looks like they may be adding another name to the their roster of broadcasters.
PWInsider reports that Afterbuzz TV host Christy Olson is being looked at by WWE. Fans who watch X-Pac’s 12360 show should be quite familiar with Christy. It remains to be seen if she will end up receiving some sort of tryout, but it appears that she’s on the WWE’s radar.
