Alexa Bliss has become somewhat of a figurehead in the Smackdown women’s division being the first two time Smackdown Women’s Champion. When the Smackdown Women’s Title match was booked at WrestleMania which pits her against any available women on the Smackdown roster, it certainly looked like Little Miss Bliss was going to be fighting an uphill battle.
In the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter it was noted there could be a lot of surprises in this match at WrestleMania. WWE is keeping much of participants involved a secret with only noting staple names like Becky Lynch, Carmella, Natalya, Mickie James, etc. With Nikki Bella competing in the mixed tag match with her bae John Cena against Miz and Maryse it’s unlikely she’ll be making an appearance in this match, besides she’s more likely to be busy taking selfies with her new engagement ring for the remainder of the night after that match, if John Cena proposes that is.
We previously reported Summer Rae and Emma have been seen at the WWE Performance Center, so they could also be inserted into the match. It’s also possible Eva Marie could make an appearance.
WWE has reportedly been contacting female stars from the past, and some of the names we could see in this match could possibly include Kelly Kelly, Maria, Victoria, and Lita.
Just imagine if Lita made a return to a WWE ring just to be defeated by Alexa Bliss, that would give the Five Feet Of Fury outstanding heel heat for years to come if they wanted to play it that way.
Of course, the most talked about name coming out of the woodwork for the Smackdown Women’s Title match is Naomi who should have held the title through the Mania in her hometown of Orlando. As far as Naomi’s participation goes, it all comes down to whether or not her knee has healed up in time for the show of shows. Needless to say, this match is certainly a wild card at WrestleMania.
