This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw was a little different compared to what fans are used to seeing, as most of the show focused on the 7 man gauntlet match featuring the competitors from the men’s Elimination Chamber.
The match has received a lot of praise, and everyone’s talking about Seth Rollins’ which saw him make history when he set a new record for longest amount of time in the ring on Raw.
PWInsider reports that Vince McMahon was the one who suggested the gauntlet match. The suggestion reportedly surprised some people in the company, as it came “out of nowhere” and Vince is said to not be very high on the idea of using gauntlet matches.
The match was then laid out and Vince McMahon approved the length and presentation of the show.
It seems that the gauntlet match was a success on all fronts, as it made Seth Rollins look like a star, gave Braun Strowman a big win heading into Elimination Chamber, and it seems that the match captured the attention of the fans as it also did well in the ratings department.
