On Monday night WWE rolled into the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL and it was reported that CM Punk was backstage ahead of Raw. During his time backstage Punk was said to have cleared the air with The Miz and he also crossed paths with Triple H, but his visit to Raw created more questions than answers.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE talent generally thought it was weird that CM Punk was there. Some people thought his appearance was a publicity stunt while others thought Punk was looking to get back in with WWE. However, Punk can’t legally return to WWE right now as he still has years left on his contract with All Elite Wrestling.
It was reported that Vince McMahon made the call for CM Punk to leave the building, but others weren’t sure that’s where it actually came from. It seems that the only person who truly knows why CM Punk showed up at Monday Night Raw is CM Punk.
One way or another it’s believed that Punk is set to make his AEW return soon as the company is rumored to be launching a new show called AEW Collision on 6/17 with CM Punk as the star of the show. Stay tuned for more updates on CM Punk as they become available.
