Heading into Dynamite this week AEW was advertising that The Young Bucks would be airing behind the scenes footage from the All In pay-per-view last year. It was reported that it was not a bait and switch and that the company would be showing footage of CM Punk’s backstage altercation with Jack Perry. Ultimately AEW did show footage of Punk’s altercation with Perry and for better or worse it quickly became a very hot topinc in the wrestling world.
Fightful Select reports that there were plenty of people in WWE who were talking about the situation, but most of the people they talked to were exhausted due to WrestleMania week.
It’s being said that no one heard there were any surprised reactions, or that there was anything that happened that was unexpected. CM Punk is not getting punished or anything of that nature within WWE. A few wrestlers considered the video a “self own” and others who said they didn’t care and were simply watching out of curiosity.
A longtime name who has worked for WWE and AEW said that this is no worse than anything that used to happen during the Monday Night Wars era of wrestling.
