The Rock is without a doubt one of the most well known wrestlers to ever step foot in the ring, and there’s no denying that his feud with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin took his career to the next level.
Austin and The Rock feuded for some time and during their feud Steve Austin had his own custom Smoking Skull belt. For years photos of The Rock’s custom Brahma Bull title belt have been circulating on the internet, and the belt has been an interesting topic because it never actually made it to TV.
Stephanie McMahon recently participated in a WWE archive tour for Entertainment Tonight, and she claimed that the belt got lost in the mail and while it was lost WWE decided to scrap plans for the title.
“Here you have The Rock’s Championship belt, the Brahma Bull belt. Now, what’s interesting about this is it’s actually never seen the light of day. It’s never been on television. This is really a premium, one-of-a-kind artifact, and it was created during The Rock and Steve Austin’s storyline. Stone Cold had the Smoking Skull belt, and then it was, ‘Well, should The Rock have his own Championship belt?’ and of course yes. This was created, lost in the mail, believe it or not. During those two weeks that it was lost, the decision was made to scrap the whole thing, and The Rock never got his own customized Championship belt, but here it is.”
It’s worth noting that a few years ago The Rock claimed that the belt never got lost in the mail. However, one thing that The Great One and Stephanie McMahon seem to agree on is that the idea was ultimately scrapped due to creative reasons. According to The Rock it was eventually decided that the Brahma Bull belt wasn’t an original idea.
