It’s certainly been an interesting year for Samoa Joe as he returned to Ring of Honor back in April and made his debut with All Elite Wrestling shortly after. However, fans haven’t seen much of Joe on TV recently.
PWInsider is reporting that Samoa Joe has been off TV because he’s filming the Twisted Metal TV series for Peacock. Samoa Joe is set to play Sweet Tooth in the series who will be voiced by Will Arnett.
Deadline broke the news of Joe’s casting back in June and the character description for Sweet Tooth reads as follows: “Sweet Tooth is described as a hilarious and terrifying hulk of a man, who is as emotional as he is cunning. A lover of chaos, this majestic rage-filled killer dons an ever-smiling clown mask and uses “Lost Vegas” as his own personal kill-ground, all while he drives his infamous doomsday ice cream truck.”
An exact return date for Samoa Joe is unknown at this point, but it’s been speculated that AEW will re-introduce him in a dramatic fashion when filming wraps up. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
