Details On When WWE Started Planning For Sting Vs Rollins, How Sting Got Into The Ring

Sting had been rumored to be making his WWE return for a few months now and most thought that it would take place at SummerSlam. Obviously that was not the case as Sting shocked the world by returning at the end of Monday Night Raw this week. According to PWInsider the idea to bring Sting in for a match against Seth Rollins was brought up about a week ago.

As far as how Sting got into the ring, a crew brought the statue box down to the ring on a forklift during a commercial break. The crew that came down was reportedly made up of quite a few people and Sting came down in a hoodie in the dark so he wasn’t recognizable. Sting then hid inside the box while a Bray Wyatt promo played and the arena was dark.
