It seems that every single year the legitimacy of voting for the Slammy Awards comes into question. But it’s being reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that voting for this year’s Slammy Awards was legitimate. However a lot of fans were complaining about the fact that many of the stars that won awards weren’t even there to accept them. This is due to the fact that WWE didn’t know who was going to win ahead of time so they didn’t know who to bring in for the show.
This is something that the company is reportedly trying to work around for future shows. One of the ideas that’s being talked about is to possibly do voting for the Slammy Awards one week before the show so that they will know who to bring in based on the votes. Another idea that was reportedly brought up was to move the Slammy Awards to WrestleMania week because most of the big names will be in town. But WrestleMania is a busy week already and adding the Slammys to the Raw after WrestleMania would be a huge change for one of the biggest shows of the year.
