This week on AEW Dynamite it was revealed that AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa won’t be able to defend her title at All Out due to injury. It was then announced that Hikaru Shida, Toni Storm, Britt Baker, and Jamie Hayter will face off in a fatal four way match for the interim AEW World Championship.
Fightful Select reports that Thunder Rosa has heat with a significant portion of the people that are competing at All Out. It’s also being reported that Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker can’t stand each other which has apparently been the case for well over a year. It’s being said that they both attempted to remain professional and are open to continuing that approach so they can do their jobs.
Jamie Hayter also has backstage heat with Thunder Rosa after getting her nose broken during a match, and much of the heat directed at Rosa has to do with her working stiff.
Original plans called for Toni Storm to defeat Thunder Rosa at All Out and win the AEW Women’s Championship, but it’s not clear if there are still plans for Storm to win the belt now that the match has been changed.
There are people who say that Thunder Rosa has worked hard to help get other young women’s talent booked, and there are others who feel she’s developed an ego and become hard to work with. There’s speculation that Thunder Rosa’s injury is related to bulging discs, but the extent of her injury is unknown. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
