After WWE bought WCW the roster went through some big changes as many of the WCW wrestlers were brought into the fold. The NWO weren’t part of the invasion angle, but they did end up joining WWE in 2002 on the road to WrestleMania 18.
It seems that some people were hesitant when it came to Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash joining the roster as Kurt Angle recently explained on the Kurt Angle Show that The Undertaker was skeptical of the group.
“He didn’t really talk much about it, [but] you could tell there was something on his mind. He felt, ‘Oh boy, we might have some problems. The NWO is coming in.’ So, he wasn’t really that vocal about it, but, yeah, skeptical because with those guys in the past, I’m sure they had problems with him. But these guys came in and they had great attitudes. They were really trying to show that they were team players, so I think Undertaker kind of accepted them eventually.”
Ultimately it doesn’t seem that the NWO joining the WWE did much harm to the company, although the group didn’t manage to have the same type of run in WWE that they had in WCW. What was your reaction when the NWO joined WWE? Sound off in the comments below.
