Roman Reigns has been champion for over 1,300 days and he will once again be defending his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania this year. Ahead of WrestleMania, The Tribal Chief has stated that he’s “gone” if he doesn’t retain his title on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Roman Reigns indicating that he will retire if he doesn’t retain his title is something that was meant to put the result for the night two main event more in doubt.
It was noted that no one likely believes Roman Reigns would retire with a loss as WWE has taught fans not to believe it. However, it’s probable that Roman Reigns could take some time off following WrestleMania 40.
If Roman Reigns does take time off then he wouldn’t be expected to work a show again until WWE’s next event in Saudi Arabia which is scheduled for May 25, or SummerSlam in Cleveland on August 3.
