The last few weeks have been action packed for The Bloodline as Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga defeated A-Town Down Under to win the WWE Tag Team Titles on the SmackDown before SummerSlam. The next night Solo Sikoa challenged Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship in the SummerSlam main event. Jacob Fatu interfered when he jumped off the top rope and put Cody through the announce table, but he also banged up his leg in the process.
On the most recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Jacob Fatu was nowhere to be seen. Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa held the WWE Tag Team Titles in his absence which left fans to wonder what the situation is with the belts.
Dave Meltzer shared an update on plans for the WWE Tag Team Championship on Wrestling Observer Radio and it was noted that the idea is the champions will be whichever two men Solo Sikoa chooses.
Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa can defend the belts, and Jacob Fatu can also defend the belts when he returns. That’s said to be the WWE explanation even though it was never explained on television.
